Simple.ink review

In today’s digital landscape, people use all kinds of devices, from mobile phones to desktops. But how do we access our stuff when we use mobile devices, a laptop and a desktop at different times, or maybe even simultaneously? And how do we collaborate with other people? Notion, a versatile all-in-one workspace, was designed to alleviate this pain. It turned the way people collaborate, organise and manage projects on its head.

But it didn’t foresee how imaginative people would be in extending Notion into the realm of website creation for documentation, blog posts, job postings, reports and portfolios.

Now Simple.ink takes this one step further and makes publishing a website super fast and hassle free. If you look at the copy of Simple.ink, it says it’s headache free and you can build it in 10 seconds – provided you already have a Notion account.

Simple.ink is a third party website builder that’s integrated with Notion. As long as you have a Notion account, you can easily turn your content into web pages. It’s a no-code website builder that uses Notion’s underlying technology to dynamically display your content on the web.

Thanks to its integration with Notion, you get all the benefits of using Notion, such as collaboration, or what you edit in Notion itself is automatically updated on your web pages in real time.

Pros and cons of Simple.ink

Simple.ink is a website builder that is tightly integrated with Notion. It allows you to create and launch websites easily and – as the saying goes – without headaches. And you only have to work in your Notion account and don’t have to worry about coding. All the content work is done within Notion. Just like Notion, Simple.ink is a subscription-based service that you access through your browser.

Pros

  • Free plan forever
  • Easy to use
  • Transparent and fair pricing
  • Exemplary documentation
  • Solid chat support

Cons

  • If you want to hold it against it: Simple.ink is a new service. That’s why you’ll find the odd bug here and there.

Who is Simple.ink for?

Well, as you know, Simple.ink is designed to make it easy for you to use what you already have in Notion. So you can publish your

  • report
  • documentation
  • product roadmap
  • your portfolio
  • media kit
  • latest news
  • news blog
  • editorial calendar
  • job posting

The only limit is your imagination. If you’re an entrepreneur, business owner or freelancer, you can use it to launch your business website.

Simple.ink is a good place for everyone to start, especially if you’re already using notion. If you’re planning to publish content – articles, images and videos of your work – on your site, Simple.ink makes it easy. In other words, if you’re a blogger or a creative, you’ll like what Simple.ink has to offer.

How easy is it to use Simple.ink?

All you have to do is grab the Notion link of the page you want to publish and paste it into the Simple.ink “Paste your link here” field.

Get your website up and running in 10 seconds, literally

OK, ok, let’s rewind a bit. It is really only that fast, if you’ve already got some Notion pages at hand and ready to publish as website. If not, of course you first need to create one first. You can start on an empty Notion page or start with one of Simple.ink’s templates.

And of course, you need to publish your Notion page to the web to get the Notion link (URL) for Simple.ink to publish it.

Simple.ink asks, if you want to follow the progress and with that you can create your account. It’l send and email with the instructions. No need for fiddling with credit cards and passwords.

Determine the settings of your site

You can change the style of your web page and define the site settings. It’s also very easy to add pages to your site.

It’s a jiffy and very easy to create a website and change its settings just as you need.

Design and templates

Simple.ink has a template category for almost everything you can think of. It’s easy to use them, just click on it and then duplicate to make a copy in your Notion account

Simple.ink templates

How easy is managing your ecommerce store with Simple.ink?

Even though Simple.ink offers ecommerce templates, you still need to do all the managing in your Notion account. It might probably be easier to go the conventional route and use something like WordPress+Woocommerce or a website builder with ecommerce features built in. Or, if you’re up to eat, you can use something like Cartloom or Ecwid via custom code.

What marketing tools does Simple.ink provide?

Simple.ink lets you add page title and description to your page. It’s also very easy to set up a redirection – you need to upgrade to a paid account though.

Notable features

Custom domain

If you upgrade to a paid account, you can use a custom domain for your website.

Custom code

It’s a nice touch that Simple.ink lets you embed custom code. This means that you can extend the functionality of your website by embedding services.

Integrations

Right out of the box, Simple.ink offers plugins to connect your Simple.ink website to various services such as analytics, chat or forms. Of course, you shouldn’t forget that Notion itself comes with a large collection of integrations.

Customer Support

Simple.ink is a bootstrapped website builder started by two brothers, Ch Daniel and Ch David. It says it’s funded entirely by its customers. Kudos to them, then, because the documentation is exemplary, and even more established and well-funded companies could take a page out of Simple.ink’s documentation book.

Simple.ink also has a very responsive and competent chat. You can see when they’re online and expect answers within a reasonable time.

Pricing

You can use Simple.ink for free – forever. If you don’t want the Simple.ink branding or want to link it to your own domain, you can upgrade your account.

If you need more websites and features, you will need to choose a higher plan

Is Simple.ink right for you?

If you and your team are already working with Notion and you need to publish a website, Simple.ink is for you. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a website builder that could build a website faster.

Simple.ink also offers modern templates that are easy to work with. Also note that there are no glaring drawbacks.
